
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Saturday met with a visiting US congressmen delegation, led by Rodney Frelinghuysen, a senior member of the Appropriations Committee in the US Congress.
During the meeting, the delegation, stressed US support for Egypt in its war against terrorism as well as efforts to restore stability and security.
They asserted that Egypt is the cornerstone of stability and peacemaking in the region, said Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef.
President Sisi, for his part, welcomed the delegation and expressed Egypt's appreciation for the US supportive stances, pointing out that relations between the two countries are profound and long-standing.
Sisi briefed the delegation on the latest developments in Egypt, stressing that the June 30 revolution has reflected the people's will, Youssef noted.
On Palestine, the president said that reaching a settlement to the Israeli-Palestinian dispute would eliminate the pretexts used by extremists to justify their terrorist acts.
The meeting was attended by Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and US Ambassador in Cairo Robert Beecroft.
