At least six US-led foreign troops have been killed in Afghanistan over the past 48 hours as US-led foreign forces experience their deadliest days in the war-ravaged country. NATO said in a statement that two ISAF service members were killed in a bomb attack in southern Afghanistan. Meanwhile, a British soldier was shot dead by a man wearing Afghan military uniform in southern Helmand Province on Saturday. Two NATO soldiers were also killed during an operation in southern Afghanistan on Friday. The Western alliance said another ISAF soldier was killed by a homemade bomb in eastern Afghanistan on Saturday. According to official figures, more than 2,594 US-led soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan since the US-led invasion of the country in 2001. The security situation remains fragile in Afghanistan despite the presence of about 150,000 US-led foreign forces. The increasing number of troop casualties in Afghanistan has caused widespread anger in the US and other NATO member states, undermining public support for the Afghan war.
