President of the Republic Michel Sleiman Thursday assured that kidnapping Lebanese people on the Syrian territory does not serve the kidnappers in any way. Sleiman's remarks came during the cabinet session in which he wished a prosper year to the Lebanese people. Sleiman noted that a cabinet session will be held on January 3 to study the dossier of the displaced. He also called for intensified efforts to set a new election law. "This does not prevent the completion of the necessary procedures for carrying out the elections on time," he said, adding that all these things require the participation of all the country's factions in the dialogue sessions.
