Slovak President Kiska undergoes surgery

Slovak President Andrej Kiska underwent a hip operation on Thursday at a hospital in Pilsen in the Czech Republic, the Slovak President's office said.
According to government spokesperson Roman Krpelan, the head of state is feeling well. Doctors recommended an operation by a minimally invasive technique at a highly specialized facility.
Krpelan confirmed Kiska had been experiencing pain for a long time. A traditional form of treatment failed to produce the desired results and the pain continued.
The operation took place under full anesthesia and was supposed to take up to two hours. Kiska is set to remain in hospital for three days.
