Slovakia to send 20 some police officers to Slovenia

Around twenty Slovak police officers are to be dispatched to Slovenia to help it protect its border with Croatia amid the current migration crisis, announced Slovak police corps vice-president Lubomir Abel on Tuesday.
"I estimate the figure to be some 20 police officers," said Abel, adding that Slovak police were currently debating the details with the Slovenian authorities.
A total of 400 officers should arrive in Slovenia as part of the assistance provided by 11 European Union countries as well the Balkans, as agreed at a summit of these countries on Sunday.
Head of Slovak Foreign Police Ludovit Biro announced that officers from his department would be joined in Slovenia by other police officers from individual regional police directorates. Slovak officers could be deployed for a month to the country.
A similar Slovak unit, composed of 50 police officers, has been helping Hungary patrol its border with Serbia as of last week.
