Social solidarity minister reviews ministry's plans to support poor people

 Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali announced that a set of new programs were launched to empower poor families through the "Forsa" (Chance) program.
The program is based on partnership between the public and private sectors to alleviate the burden on the state's budget, she said.
Wali underlined that the ministry will implement a strategy with the start of the new year to empower, qualify and protect the handicapped in cooperation between the civil society and experts.
The strategy will witness cooperation with about 150 NGOs in various governorates, she noted.
Wali posted Prime Minister Sherif Ismail on the ministry's plans and strategies during his visit to the ministry's headquarters today.
The minister further reiterated that by the end of June 2016 the number of the beneficiaries from "Takafol" and "Karma" programs will reach 500,000 families at a total cost of 1.300 billion pounds.
Wali said that there are important legislations being prepared to be submitted to the next parliament including bills on NGOs, social insurance and pensions.
