Source confirms delamination of cockpit windscreen in Czech PM’s jet

He thus confirmed an earlier report by the Czech news agency CTK that the jet had developed a non-critical technology problem en route to Moscow. “A layer of cockpit windscreen glass was delaminated but the jet made a safe and secure landing at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport and no one was damaged,” the source said. There was no need to request assistance from the airport’s emergency services. The CTK said the incident had occurred in the Belarusian airspace. The crew reportedly decided to descend to a lower altitude after detecting the problem and completed the flight successfully in Moscow. Monday, May 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Petr Necas are expected to hold talks in the Russian Black Sea resort city of Sochi.
