
South and North Korea have opened high-level talks on the South’s side of the truce village of Panmunjeom.Seoul’s chief delegate to the talks, Kim Kyou-hyun, said Wednesday before the meeting he will approach the dialogue with an open mind and explore opportunities to create a new Korean Peninsula, South Korean (KBS) World News said.Kim, the presidential office’s deputy chief of the National Security Office, also said a specific agenda for the talks has not been decided. He said his delegation will focus on making sure family reunions are held from next week as agreed on by the Koreas.Kim and his delegation met Unification Minister Ryoo Kihl-jae before leaving for Panmunjeom.Wednesday marks the first high-level dialogue between the South and North since the South Korean President Park Geun-hye took office.
