South, North Korea begin talks on cross-border family reunions

North and South Korea began talks Wednesday on organizing reunions of families separated by the Korean War, a media report said. Officials were holding the preliminary negotiations at the border village of Panmunjom, Yonhap News reported, citing a South Korean official, Voice of Russia reported. "It is difficult to predict the results of the talks," said Unification Ministry Spokeswoman Park Soo Jin. The 1950-53 Korean War separated many families, a highly sensitive issue for the two neighbors. If the reunions go ahead, they will be the first since 2010. A similar round of reunions was due to take place in September, but was called off at the last minute by Pyongyang. ? ?
