Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch was elected as the unopposed Chief Minister (CM) of Pakistan's southwestern province Balochistan on Saturday. Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz who got majority seats in May 11 general elections nominated Baloch for the post of chief minister. The elections for chief minister in the provincial assembly were to be conducted on Sunday after filing of the nomination papers on Saturday. There was no other candidate against Dr Baloch that led to his selection for CM unopposed. The middle class medical doctor is the first chief minister of the province who doesn't belong to former ruler family and isn't a tribal head. The newly elected chief minister will administer his oath later.
