
Sudan has won position of Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council of the Hague-based Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons(OPCW) in person of Sudan Ambassador to Netherlands and its Permanent Envoy to the Organization, Rahma Salih Al-Ebaid who was unanimously nominated by the African group during meeting of new session of the Executive Council in the Hague yesterday, Thursday.
Ambassador Al-Ebaid thanked the Council members for their confidence and affirmed that Sudan would work with member states to achieve the organization goals and to cement cooperation in field of prohibition and non-proliferation of chemical weapons.
It is to be noted that the winning indicates to confidence of the international organization in Sudan which remains working over the last 20 years as effective member through its participation in the OPCW activities and programs.
