The Director of the AU Administration in the Foreign Ministry, Ambassador, Abdul Moneim Osman has affirmed that Sudan, via the current visit of the AU Peace and Security Council delegation to the country, works for informing the African and international community on the efforts being exerted to maintain peace and security in the region. Ambassador told reporters at Khartoum airport, Sunday said the AU is a part of all the agreements signed by Sudan to maintain peace and security in the region and the continent. He said the AU delegation will leave for Al-Fasher on Monday to meet the Wali (governor) of North Darfur State , the Representative of Darfur Regional Authority and inspect UNAMID forces in Darfur. Meanwhile, the Head of the AU delegation said the visit came in the context of the jurisdictions given to the Peace and Security Council in Sudan concerning inspections of the situation in Darfur and assessment of the UNAMID Performance in the region.
