A Sudanese government delegation left here today for Addis Ababa to resume dialogue with the State of South Sudan on the controversial points between the two countries under the auspices of the African Union''s High-Level Committee headed by former South African President Thabo Mbeki. Sudanese President''s Adviser Mustafa Osman Ismail told reporters that the talks covered all economic, trade and border issues as well as other topics tabled on the negotiation''s agenda. Ismail said the success of negotiations depends on the extent of the government of South Sudan State understanding and absorption of the messages sent to it and it positive response to the settlement proposals. He expressed his belief that if the South Sudan government insisted on adherence to its former proposals , no agreement can be reached, stressing that the Abyei region is part of Sudan and will remain under the auspices of the United Nations and the Ethiopian troops until an agreement on its future could be reached.
