Lebanese President Michel Suleiman praised on Wednesday the statement issued by the UN Security Council yesterday which adopted a series of steps agreed to be implemented by the International Working Group for Support to Lebanon on September 25 last year. In a presidential statement, the president hailed the UNSC statement which adopted a series of steps most notably a meeting to be held in Italy to enhance the capacity of the army. Suleiman said that this move confirms "Lebanon's success in establishing a safety net to support its stability, economy, its armed forces and its efforts to address the problem of Syrian refugees." The UN Security Council on Monday expressed deep concern over the impact of the crisis in Syria on Lebanon's stability and appealed to all Lebanese to maintain national unity in the face of attempts to undermine stability in their country
