
Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman concluded Tuesday several days visit to Iran, during which he met with senior Iranian officials on ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two countries in various fields. Sultan Qaboos said that his meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani was a good opportunity to strengthen the Omani-Iranian ties and cooperation between the two countries in various fields that serve the interests of the two peoples, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported. A memorandum of cooperation in the field of oil and gas was signed by Omani Minister of Oil and Gas Mohammed bin Hamad Al Rumhy and Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh. The two sides agreed to start operations of pipeline to transport Iranian gas to the Sultanate during a short period.
