Suspects in Boston terrorist attack came from well-to-do family

The Tsarnayevs family, two members of which, brothers Tamerlan and Johar are suspected of being behind the recent terrorist attack in United States’ Boston, came to live in Dagestan’s capital Makhachkala from Kyrgyzstan in 2001 and changed several domiciles before emigrating to the United States. Itar-Tass has learnt that the family was registered in the settlement of Khushet outside Makhachkala but was actually living in rented homes in Makhachkala. It is said that the Tsarnayev father, Anzor, planned to open a trading outlet at one of the addresses they lived at - at a five-storey house in Oleg Koshevoy Street - but “something went wrong.” Before leaving for the United States, the Tsarnayev children attended classes at Makhachkala’s school number one. According to the school’s director, Emirmagomed Davudov, Tamerlan and Johar, and their sisters Alina and Bela, studied at this school. In March 2002, they emigrated to the United States. Now, there are no teachers at this school who can say anything about the family - some died, some changed job, he said. People who knew the Tsarnayevs say none of them were prone to violence or religious extremism. Anzor Tsarnayev told a local television channel that his sons had been “kind-hearted and obedient boys.” It looks like the family was wealthy enough to have their children study at a prestigious school and later send them for further studies at the United States. Anzor Tsarnayev, 47, is now hiding from journalists, his whereabouts are unknown. US law enforcers have said they established the identity of both suspects linked to the explosions that roared not far from the finish line of the famous Boston marathon in the city center last Monday that killed three persons. They are brothers Tamerlan Tsarnayev and Johar Tsarnayev, who arrived for permanent residence in the United States a year ago. A policeman was killed in an exchange of fire.
