Syrian officials pardoned 94 rebels after they put down their weapons and turned themselves in to the authorities in Homs, an official source announced Tuesday. Authorities, who asked to remain unnamed, said the 94 rebels were from the towns of Hasia, al-Breij, Shamsin, Jandar and al-Dibeh, and were released after pledging not to take up arms again or carry out any acts that could affect the security of the homeland and citizens. Over the last month, Syrian authorities have released 350 rebels who have turned themselves in and gave up their weapons in the villages of Tall al-Shour, al-Rabieh, al-Ghasbiyeh, Jdaidet al-Assi and al-Tunbeh. 40 other rebels from al-Qaryatain area have also been released.
