Syria finds Turkey-registered cars in rebels' dens

The Syrian army found several cars with Turkish number plates among equipment left by militants in the city of al-Qaryatayn in Homs province. The army came to find that insurgents used Turkey-registered cars to enter the city and transfer equipment and forces within the area. All cars left from insurgents had Turkish number plates, according to an army commander. Turkey has been one of the main supporters of the insurgency in Syria and its borders have been a major source for delivering arms to militants. Foreign terrorists and armed groups have also been infiltrating to Syria through Turkish borders throughout the two-year old bloody insurgency, Alalam reported. As part of an all-out operation in Homs, Syrian soldiers entered al-Qaryatayn from the North side and surrounded insurgents’ hideouts. The army could defeat insurgents after days of heavy clashes which left many insurgents dead while the rest fled the city. The whole town is now secure and residents are returning to normal life, our reporter said. Syria crisis started as pro-reform protests but with interventions by the United States, UK and their regional and western allies it soon turned to a massive insurgency which took in numerous terrorist groups from all over Europe and the Middle-East to wage one of the bloodiest wars the region has ever experienced.
