Syria refutes news on dismissal of envoy to Lebanon

Syria refuted news reports on Monday that said it had terminated the role of its ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdulkareem. The Information Ministry said in a statement the Syrian Ambassador is carrying out his duties as usual, stressing that the news on his dismissal is "categorically baseless." The ministry added that the inaccurate news had been published on its Facebook account, which was recently hacked into, denying any links to the social network website account, in its current state.
