The Syrian nation is the one who helped spark the first moments of the revolutionary zeal and will determine its fate, said Head of the Syrian National Coalition Moaz al-Khatib. Speaking at the opening session of the Arab Summit being held here, Khatib said that what is going on in Syria is a struggle between slavery and freedom, between justice and injustice. Some pro-regime parties attempted to ignite a civil war in Banias area and the residents managed to overcome the crisis, he added. Talking about the chemical weapons, Khatib said that some say that "you can destroy these weapons", affirming that this issue should be decided by a comprehensive national conference and as part of an overall deal to get rid of all weapons of mass distruction in the region.
