The Ministerial Committee tasked with following up on the procedures to implement the political program to solve the crisis in Syria held a meeting on Monday with members of the executive offices of the Arab Writers Union and the Syrian Publishers Union. Al-Halqi stressed the importance of intellectuals and thinkers in spreading culture to boost the position of Arab nationalist thought and to defy the cultural and media invasion. He pointed out that Syria will remain that strong and immune country which is able to defy all U.S.-Zionist plans in the region thanks to the unity of its people and brave army. The Prime Minister noted that the government is working to settle the issue of the arrested , kidnapped and armed people. He reiterated that the Syrian government is open to all political forces and the opposition inside and abroad which believe in national solution. Members of the executive offices expressed their support to the political program to solve the crisis in Syria, hailing the efforts of the ministerial committee to restore communication and national unity among the Syrian people. They presented their visions about solving the crisis, pointing out to the necessity of repairing the infrastructure and dealing with emergency cases of all requirements for citizens. In a statement after the meeting, Head of the Arab Writers' Union, Hussein Jouma, said that the meeting focused on the shape of dialogue and promoting the conceptions of "citizenship", "freedom" and "democracy." He pointed out that targeting Syria is aimed at destroying the constituents of the state, adding that sabotaging the infrastructure serves the best interests of the Zionist enemy.
