Tajikistan’s new political party will unite representatives of the businesses. “Our objective is economic independence of the country, where we shall be attracting the emerging class of small and medium businesses, and work of new effective programmes,” Head of the coordinating council and chairman of the Association of Entrepreneurs and Industrialists Zaid Saidov said. The Declaration of the New Tajikistan political organisation reads “many people, and first of all the intellectual potential, flee the country. Thus the Tajik society requires a new idea, a new message, a new initiative and new actions, and our party is ready to undertake the function of expressing those aspirations.” Zaid Saidov is 55. He graduated from the country’s University. Saidov began his career as an economist and grew to a minister of industry. In 2007 he began his business. Tajikistan’s political forces have become active due to the presidential election scheduled for November of the current year. Since 1992, the country’s president has been Emomali Rakhmon, who became 60 in 2012. In compliance with the country’s constitution, he may remain the country’s leader to 2020. Presently, eight political parties are registered in Tajikistan. The national parliament’s three quarters of the seats are taken by the ruling People-Democratic Party, which the president has been chairing for almost 15 years.
