Taliban militants abduct, behead Labors Union chief in south Afghanistan

Taliban militants abducted the leader of Labors Union in Afghanistan's southern Helmand province and abandoned his beheaded body behind the gate of his house in the provincial capital Lashkar Gah, 555 km south of the national capital Kabul on Monday, a spokesman for the entity Basir Nuri said Tuesday. "The armed Taliban insurgents abducted Khudai Noor, the chief of Labors Union, from his home in Lashkar Gah on Sunday and abandoned his beheaded body behind the door of his house a day later on Monday,"Nuri told Xinhua. The late Khudai Nur had struggled for more than a decade to ensure the rights of working class in the conflict-ridden Afghanistan, he said. To condemn the incident, the Labors Union of Afghanistan is going to stage a demonstration in the country's capital city Kabul on Wednesday, Nuri added. Taliban militants fighting the government have yet to make comment
