
Tanzania's President John Magufuli met on Monday with Egypt's ambassador to the African country Yasser el-Shawwaf.
Magufuli asserted absolute support for Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in order to bring about stability and security in Egypt. He also appreciated Cairo's role over the history, praising as distinguished bilateral ties.
The African leader said his country is interested in promoting commercial and economic relations with Egypt.
Tanzania seeks cooperation with Egypt in several fields, he said, calling on Egyptian businessmen to explore investment opportunities in Tanzania.
He lauded a project run by an Egyptian engineering bureau to establish a bridge over a river in Dar es Salaam .
Cairo's decision to open a commercial representation office in the Tanzanian capital soon is also hailed by the president. It will increase the volume of trade exchange, he said.
For his part, the Egyptian ambassador reiterated Egypt's interest in promoting relations.
