A security guard was charged Wednesday with killing a Thai pharmaceutical executive who came to Glasgow, Scotland, for a conference on HIV/AIDS. Clive Carter, 34, of Motherwell appeared at a closed hearing in Glasgow Sheriff's Court, The Herald of Glasgow reported. His attorney said Carter did not enter a plea and was ordered jailed pending another hearing next week. The beaten body of Khanokporn Satjawat, 42, was found Monday in a ladies room at the Clyde Auditorium. She was a manager for Bristol-Myers Squibb in Bangkok and was a delegate to the conference on HIV treatment. The conference, which began Sunday and concludes Thursday, was moved to other space within the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Center. Carter was employed by the worldwide security company G4S.
