Thai Military Council releases pro-democracy detainees

The National Peace Keeping Council (NPKC) and Thai government released on Sunday a number of youth who were arrested yesterday in a demonstration they held in the middle of Bangkok due to their affiliation to groups calling for democracy.
Local media announced today that the police arrested yesterday a large number of youth and students who held demonstrations, obstructing traffic in the capital's streets, besides organizing false elections that attracted a total of 3,000 people.
The demonstrators announced on social networks websites organization of a protest on the occasion of Valentine's Day, which falls on February 14, prompting the authorities to set up barricades to prevent them from reaching the center of Bangkok.
The demonstrators placed flowers all over the roads pavements and ballot boxes, calling for false elections.
This comes following the issuance of a travel ban by the NPKC against the ousted Thai prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra who was toppled in a military cope last May 2014 as she is expected to face official corruption charges on February 21.
