Tips sought in Va police captain's disappearance

Virginia police said they are seeking two men who may have information about a police captain's suspicious disappearance. Kevin Quick, 45, a captain on the Waynesboro, Va., police force, was last seen leaving his mother's house Friday night where he was headed to a friend's home some 20 miles away, CNN said. Quick never arrived at the friend's home. Surveillance footage instead shows his silver 1999 Toyota 4Runner in Fork Union, Va., later that night and in the Manassas, Va., area Saturday. The vehicle was found abandoned in Harrisonburg, Va., Sunday. Police released a photo of a man described as a "person of interest" in the case, though they did not say what the man's connection to Quick's disappearance is. "We stand here today shoulder to shoulder with our brothers and sisters in law enforcement across the region and Virginia hoping for Kevin's safe return," Waynesboro Police Sgt. Brian Edwards said at a news conference Monday. "He is a generous and loyal friend to many of those who are present here today." Tips have poured in to state police and other area law enforcement agencies though no solid leads as to Quick's whereabouts have been made public.
