
Tunisian President Beji Caid Sibsi met here on Thursday with visiting French Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.
A statement issued by the Tunisian presidency said that the two sides discussed relations between the two countries and means of enhancing them in various fields.
The meeting also reviewed the developments in Libya and the necessity of intensifying efforts to accelerate the achievement of a comprehensive political settlement in that country due to the serious repercussions of the current situation on the security and stability of the region.
The French Defence Minister , according to the statement, confirmed his country's readiness to facilitate access to a compromise solution between the various Libyan parties, stressing France's support for the Tunisian initiative in this area.
