Doha - QNA

The second group of Tunisians wounded during the revolution, consisting of six persons, arrived in Doha this morning to receive treatment at Qatari hospitals as part of a total number of twenty wounded persons for whom Qatar undertook to provide medical treatment. On April 14, three Tunisians wounded arrived in Doha and received treatment at Hamad Medical Hospital. In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), HE Tunisian Ambassador to Qatar Mohammed al-Munther al-Dharif said that the six injured are suffering from serious injuries that hamper their ability to walk and the medical cadres in the State of Qatar will treat them after they succeeded in treating the first group. The Tunisian Ambassador praised Qatar's undertaking to provide medical treatment for the injured of the Tunisian Revolution, stressing that this step is a real support to the Tunisian people during and after the revolution. He also stressed that Qatar's undertaking to treat 20 wounded Tunisians, which came under the directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, emphasizes the distinguished relations between Qatar and Tunisia. For his part, Tunisian Minister of Human Rights and Transitional Justice Samir Dello in a press statement at Tunis Carthage International Airport to bid farewell to the group, said that there is a new group will soon travel to Qatar for treatment for various injuries. He also explained that Qatar's undertaking to treat the wounded came under the guidance of HH the Emir during his visit to Tunisia on the occasion of the celebrations to mark the first anniversary of the January 14 revolution, adding that this step will support the Tunisian government. Meanwhile, the six injured expressed their happiness for their presence in the State of Qatar between their brothers for treatment, and went to thank the Government of Qatar on its stance towards the Tunisian people. They also expressed their hope to return to Tunisia "not in wheelchairs" as they came, after receiving treatment in Doha.
