A Turk male was arrested on Saturday in Bangkok's eastern outskirts in suspected connection with a fatal bombing in the heart of the capital earlier this month, police said.
The unidentified Turk national was arrested at a rented apartment house in Nong Jok district with a cache of explosive compounds allegedly similar to those used in the bombing at Rajaprasong intersection on Aug. 17, police said.
The Turk is yet to be interrogated by police who are currently on the hunt for "white Arab" suspected as perpetrator of the blast at Erawan shrine which killed 20 people, including tourists and injured more than 100 others.
A portrait of the unknown "white Arab" was sketched and copied for postings at varied spots in Bangkok streets and in the internet.
The police have also been hunting for an "Asian-looking" male allegedly held responsible for an underwater blast near Sathorn pier in which nobody was killed or injured.
The suspect was believed to have dropped the bomb into the water in Chao Praya River the day following the shrine bombing.
