Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said that allegations on the use of chemical weapons by the Assad regime in Syria had to be seriously investigated and studied. In a statement released on Thursday, the Turkish MFA emphasized that the violent policies implemented by the Syrian regime on its own people gained a new dimension every new day. We welcome the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon's statements pointing out to a UN investigation on allegations of the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian regime, the MFA stressed. In this context, we expect an objective and independent investigation, with the contributions of international organizations, and for the result of the investigation to be shared with the international public opinion, the MFA also said.
