Turkey on Saturday sent 22 tons of food stuff to Libya to meet urgent needs of the Libyan people, an official statement said. Turkey sent two military cargo planes to Libya, which were loaded with 22 tons of food stuff worth over 112,000 U.S. dollars, said the statement issued by Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Situation Management. "We have learned that almost 10,000 people were stranded in Bani Walid region, and they need urgent food (aid)," the statement said. The food will be parachuted in Bani Walid since there is no airport there, it said. Turkey would continue to extend humanitarian aid to Libya in case of any need, it added.
