
Turkey is set to inaugurate its embassy in Brunei's capital Bandar Seri Begawan as a part of its active foreign policy, which saw a significant increase lately in the number of Turkish diplomatic missions abroad. Oguz Ates was appointed as ambassador to Brunei, a small nation located on the north coast of the island of Borneo, in Southeast Asia, . Ates told the Anadolu Agency that Brunei was an important country for both Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Organization of Islamic Cooperation, adding, that importance Turkey attached to the two organizations required the country to open an embassy in Brunei.
