
Turkish Foreign Ministry official said Mevlut Cavusoglu held Monday a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to discuss the latest developments of the Syrian crisis.
Anadolu Agency reported today that the two sides discussed a potential for a political resolution to the crisis. They also discussed the fate of Syrian President Bashar Al Assad and ways to counter ISIS.
Last Friday, the US launched an air strike on a Syrian air base using cruise missiles. The strike was in response to the Syrian regime's alleged use of chemical weapons in an attack in the city of Khan Sheikhoun. The attack left a 100 civilians dead and 500 more injured, the majority of which were children.
