"Turkish Republic will continue to be together with Turkish Cypriots and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in every instant and any conditions," said Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. Davutoglu said following a meeting held in Istanbul Hilton Hotel with the recently appointed foreign minister of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ozdil Nami that he was extremely happy to be receiving him and he believed that Nami came into office in a critical time. Stating that he met UN special envoy to Cyprus, Alexander Downer the day before, Davutoglu also said that he believed Greek Cypriots would not miss this opportunity for a comprehensive peace in Cyprus. Ozdil Nami for his part said that Turkish Cypriots were doing their best for a comprehensive peace in the island and Turkey always supported their efforts, adding that the time to end the uncertainty had arrived. The two foreign minister later continued their meeting behind doors. Peace talks between the Greek Cypriot administration and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus continue under a UN initiative.
