Turkey's EU Minister and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said, " Turkish Day Parade is a signal of Turkey's power, a cultural show of power." Federation of Turkish American Associations (FTAA) organized the 32thTurkish Day Parade in New York. Addressing the crowd after the parade, "the more our citizens in the US are powerful, the more Turkey is powerful in the world," said Bagis. "Warning to anti-Turkey groups" Stating that one of the most salient features of this event was to represent all the colors and wealth of Turkic world, Bagis said, "this event is a signal of Turkey's power, a cultural show of power and a warning to the anti-Turkey groups. It is a mean for them to see our unity and mind their steps." Bagis also emphasized that Turkic world was represented in more numbers in the UN and expressed his hope about Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus' (TRNC) existence as an independent country soon. Bagis' spouse Reyhan Bagis, Prime Minister of TRNC Irsen Kucuk, Turkish-American Interparliamentary Friendship Group Director and Justice and Development (AK) Party Deputy Director Mevlut Cavusoglu, Turkey's United Nations (UN) representative Halit Cevik, New York Consul General Levent Bilgen, FTAA Director Ali Cinar, as well as several politicians from TRNC and Azerbaijan attended the parade. Janissary band, Turkish army drum band, as well as four leading Turkish football teams' associations in the US took part in the parade.
