Turkish PM meets with Lebanese caretaker PM

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan received Thursday visiting Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati and exchanged views mainly on the Syrian refugee issue. The talks between the two sides also dealt with the recent terrorist attack in Beirut, the impacts of Syrian refugee tragedy on neighboring countries, and the bilateral economic relations between the two countries, the Turkish Anadolu Agency (AA) reported. Erdogan voiced his country's solidarity with Lebanon in wake of the twin bomb attacks on the Iranian embassy in Beirut last Tuesday, according to the report. Erdogan said Turkey will exert all efforts to help Lebanon address the growing burden of Syrian refugees. For his part, Mikati said he hoped the international community, including Arab countries, recognizes the gravity of the refugee situation in Lebanon as well as the pressing need to find a political solution to the crisis in Syria as soon as possible to put an end to such a large influx.
