
Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim stated that the terrorist attack leading to the death of the Russian Ambassador in Ankara Andrei Karlov in Ankara is believed to target the Turkish-Russian relations.
Yildirim expressed his regret over the tragedy and stressed on Turkey's efforts investigating the crime and bring those involved to justice.
He also added that the Russian ambassador Karlov came under an armed attack during his speech at a photo exhibition event of the Turkey-Russian historical relations. Yildirim confirmed that the attacker was killed by the security forces, and there were three injured, including a foreigner, are receiving treatment.
The Turkish Prime Minister kept his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev timely informed about the attack. The Prime Minister extended his condolences to Andrei Karlov's family and the Russian peoples.
