Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, "We will turn back to our country after holding a series of successful meetings." "We discussed the political, economic, military dimensions of Turkish-US relations, as well as regional issues, and we will proceed by drawing our roadmap within this new outlook," added Erdogan who met the representatives of Turkish and Muslim societies during the reception at Turkey's Washington Embassy. Erdogan said, "in the region, Turkey's being a NATO member is already the strongest sign of Turkish-US solidarity in military terms. Politically the same. With the US, which we have the same kind of solidarity in terms of all areas of international relations, it is important for me to state that our trade volume reached USD 20 billion from USD 8 billion in 10.5 years" He added that the current trade volume was not enough, considering that the population of the two countries were around 460 million in sum. Turks educated in US to serve back Turkey Emphasizing that they would work hardly to form Turkish-US high level economic council, Erdogan touched on the Turks living in the US. "There are Turkish students getting pre-school, primary school, high school, university and graduate education in the US. I believe that they would adopt a different and dynamic structure here and turn back to their country in order to benefit all of us." Following the reception, Erdogan, accompanied by Turkey's ambassador in Washington Namik Tan, as well as their spouses Emine Erdogan and Fugen Tan, headed to San Francisco on Saturday.
