
The Turkish-led Euphrates Shield operation, launched on August 24 against terrorist organizations in north of Syria, has come to an end, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim announced Wednesday.
In an interview with Turkish private broadcaster, Yildirim said that if something threatening Turkish security happens in the future, regarding ISIS or something else, then this will be a new operation, adding "Operation Euphrates Shield has ended, and any other future operations will be named differently." For its part, the National Security Council read said in a statement Wednesday that Turkey's operation in northern Syria has been successfully concluded. according to Anadolu Agency (AA).
The operation aimed to improve security, support coalition forces and eliminate the terror threat along the Turkish border.
