Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated Saturday that United Nations was not the assurance of peace anymore, regarding the UN team which was not able to start an investigation to determine whether chemical weapon attack was used or not in Syria. Speaking in a collective opening ceremony in his hometown Rize province of Turkey, Erdogan said that Syrian President Bashar Assad was making a last-ditch effort "because God will call him to account at soonest to take revenge of innocent children." "We do not have any wish other than peace, solidarity and brotherhood. We want that Esmaas do not die," Erdogan noted, referring to Mohamed al-Beltagi's daughter Esmaa al-Beltagy, who was killed Wednesday by snipers at the sit-in at Rabaa al-Adawiya. "We can't leave Esmaas alone in Egypt, we can't leave the babies alone, killed via chemical weapons in Syria," he added. Saying that some argued Turkey has become isolated, Erdogan rejected it by stressing that Turkey was not alone. He underlined that first God, then people were by their side.
