Turkish police clash with 4 armed Syrians

Turkish police clashed with four armed Syrians who attempted to abduct a prominent Syrian opposition lawyer based in Hatay province of southern Turkey on early Wednesday. Two of the Syrians were wounded in the clash and all four were arrested, Hatay Governor, Mehmet Celalettin Lekesiz, told the semi- official Anatolia News Agency. Breaking into his house in Hatay province, the Syrians forced the lawyer into a car and headed toward frontier near Yayladagi border gate. The Turkish police followed the suspected car and the clash broke out after the armed Syrians refused to stop. "We found connections between some people based in Turkey and this incident," the governor said, adding the number of arrested could increase according to the investigation.
