Turkish President Abdullah Gul met here today with Iraq’s Kurdistan Prime Minister Negervan Barzani who is currently visiting Turkey. A statement issued by the Kurdistan regional govertnment said talks during the meeting dealt with a number of issues of mutual concern foremost of which were means of activating mechanisms of cooperation, terrorism fighting and enhancement of cooperation in the fields of trade and energy. The statement added that Barzani and his accompanying delegation will meet during the visit with a number of ranking Turkish officials to discuss means of enhancing relations between Kurdistan region and Turkey, in addition to developments in the region. Barzani arrived in Ankara yesterday on his first visit abroad since he assumed power.
