Turkish soldiers evacuate Tomb of Suleyman Shah in Syria

About 40 Turkish soldiers guarding the Tomb of Suleyman Shah in Syria have been evacuated, along with the remains from the tomb, a statement by the Turkish General Staff said.
"Legacy heirlooms of high moral value at the Suleyman Shah Respect Outpost, which is a part of Turkish territory by international agreements, has temporarily moved to the Suriye Esmesi village again within Syrian territory due to the security issues and military risks in Syria while reserving all rights," the Turkish military's website said.
As part of the Treaty of Ankara in 1921, which ended the Franco-Turkish War, Turkey was allowed to keep the tomb despite its location in Syria, place guards at it and raise a Turkish flag over it.
One Turkish soldier was killed in an accident, a Turkish government official said. But he added that it was an accident and not during clashes with any side.
