The UAE is committed to sustain its efforts to help Yemen ride over its current challenges, Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, affirmed today. ''We realize that challenges Yemen will be facing ahead are complicated and difficult. However, we are confident that regional and international efforts along with determination of the Yemeni people to preserve future of their country will be adequate enough to help Yemen overcome these obstacles. We in the UAE will continue our efforts to support our brothers in Yemen,'' Dr Gargash said in a statement to WAM after leading the UAE's delegation to the Friends of Yemen Ministerial meeting which started in London today. 'We view the London high-level conference a true expression of commitment by the international community to the stability roadmap the Yemeni people have drawn for themselves and which was based on the GCC initiative,'' the UAE minister said. He stressed the UAE is committed through its bilateral relations with Yemen or through regional and international gatherings to push every efforts towards end. He said:''Our engagement in the conference signifies and translates our stances and our historic efforts in supporting stability and development in Yemen and welfare of its people.'' The Governments of the UK, Saudi Arabia and Yemen co-chaired the Friends of Yemen Ministerial meeting in London on 7 March. The fifth international meeting provided an opportunity to keep Yemen on the international agenda, assess progress on political transition and follow up the commitments made by the international community in 2012 to provide financial assistance and other support to Yemen.
