The President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a congratulatory cable to Pope Francis I on the occasion of his election as the new Pope, replacing Benedict XVI. Shaikh Khalifa expressed his best wishes for good luck and success for the new Pope in order to boost the values of peace, justice and tolerance in the world. His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, sent similar congratulatory cables to the Pope on the same occasion.
