The United Arab Emirates' Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Mohammed Gargash welcomed Tuesday the Palestinians' accession to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a full member. UAE congratulates the Palestinian people and their leaders on the historic achievement, which is one of the positive steps that set the Palestinian state in its natural place in the international arena, UAE's state news agency WAM quoted Gargash as saying. The Palestinians' accession to the UNESCO is the result of conscious diplomacy adopted by the Palestinian National Authority with support from the fraternal and friendly countries, Gargash said. He expressed the wish for building on this positive step to consolidate the legitimate role of the Palestinian state in the international arena.
