Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has commended the directives President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to review the performance of government teams to ensure welfare and delivery of better services to the citizens. The remarks was made during the Cabinet session held here today at the Presidential Palace to review the second report on the UAE government performance. "When we review the work of federal government, we do it to learn from our experiences and push ahead to score more achievements," Sheikh Mohammed said. H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior and H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs were present. The report opens with an introduction from the Prime Minister: " Since we started and with the continuous follow up from President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, our priorities to achieve welfare to the citizens have never changed.. Our citizens are the mean and aim for achieving the development. The innovations to develop the government are limitless." He added that "We learnt from our previous experience that the strategies and government plans require a clear vision for the team work. Hence, we instructed the setting of the UAE vision to make it the best country during its golden jubilee by 2021." Sheikh Mohammed said the progress being experienced by the UAE requires continuous review to keep pace with the high ceiling of expectations from citizens and cope with the world's rapid developments. The second report covers different sectors of social development, economic development, foreign policy, government development, security and justice, infrastructure, environment and specialised sector entitled: "Citizen and Development". Each sector shows achievements in figures and graphics. The Cabinet renewed duration of the Board of Directors of Emirates Investment Authority for three years under chairmanship of Mansour bin Zayed. It also restructured the Human Resources Development Committee at the Banking and Financial Sector under chairmanship of Humaid Al Qattami, Minister of Education. It also approved the issuance of bylaw for the federal law on credit information. The move comes in line with keenness on supporting the banking sector in the UAE and ensuring the transparency principle. The Cabinet approved the amendment of some provisions of the federal law on protection and development of environment. It approved the UAE's hosting of ITU's World Telecommunication Development Conference 2014. It endorsed a number of recommendations from the Federal National Council (FNC) on policy of the National Media Council on boosting the media laws in the UAE. They included training of national cadres and emiratisation of media posts nationwide. The Cabinet approved the request of the FNC to discuss the policy of the Ministry of Health in a drive to upgrade the health system. It endorsed the cooperation agreements in the areas of trade, economy and judiciary with the governments of Japan, Benin, Kingdom of Morocco and Armenia. The Cabinet approved the air transport agreements with Afghanistan, Salvador and Burkina Faso. On the sidelines of the Cabinet session, Sheikh Mohammed and ministers registered in the e-portal project. They were briefed about the work mechanism of e-portal, which speeds up travel procedures for citizens, expatriates and visitors with entry visas, while departing or entering into the country. Earlier the Ministry of Interior conducted the media campaign to educate public about the benefits of e-portals.
