A Ugandan lesbian refugee faces possible deportation from South Korea after losing her case at a local appeals court, court officials said Monday. The Seoul High Court overturned a lower court's decision to grant the 28-year-old woman a refugee status, citing a lack of evidence backing up her claim of credible fear of persecution in her native country on the basis of her sexual orientation, according to the officials.
