UK Prime Minister David Cameron expressed willingness to conduct a referendum over Britain's EU relationship "when the time is right". Cameron declared that voters need a "real choice" in an article published by The Sunday Telegraph, adding that an immediate referendum over EU membership is not what many want. The Premier clarified that changes will need the "full-hearted support of the British people", but will require them to show "tactical and strategic patience". "There is more to come, further moves, probably further treaties, where we can take forward our interests, safeguard the single market and stay out of a federal Europe," Cameron wrote. Analysts saw the article as a step closer by Cameron to offering a referendum as he is calling on more than 100 Conservative Party MPs to conduct it.
